Stavros Bousboulas

Director of the 3rd Pathology Clinic & Diabetic Centre of Nikaia Hospital, Piraeus

He graduated from the Athens Medical School and in 1985 he obtained the specialty of Pathologist. He underwent further training in ultrasound and was a member of the examination committee for Pathologists in ultrasound tomography. He worked in the Gastroenterology Unit of the 2nd Preparatory Clinic of the University of Athens, where he gained experience in the full range of endoscopies. He served in the National Health Service as a Pathologist for approximately 37 years, initially at Tzaneio and then at the General Hospital of Nikaia, Piraeus ‘Agios Panteleimon’, as head of the Diabetes Center and Director of the 3rd Pathology Clinic. He served as a judge for the upgrading of various medical specialties of the hospital. He holds the title of Pathologist with specialization in diabetes. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of Athens and was elected twice as President of the Hellenic Diabetes Society. He has – mainly on issues of metabolic diseases – a multitude of announcements and publications in Greek and international journals and active participation in conferences, round tables as President or Speaker. He participates in writing chapters in books, volumes of proceedings, writing guidelines, as well as being a principal investigator in Greek and international scientific protocols. He is a member of many Scientific Societies.
